Serving Parents and Students

Often when a child is in the secondary transition process, parents have questions on post-school options for their child and what should be included in a transition plan. Transition Consultants are happy to provide information to parents and to help assist the school district in transition planning strategies and practices. We encourage parents and students to get involved and stay involved in the process from providing assessment information to meeting with agencies that could possibly provide services in the future. This is information that we share with school districts. We frequently participate in local Transition Fairs at districts which gives us a chance to meet more parents and students and provide information on a variety of transition topics. We also invite parents to attend the parent track at our college camp we hold each June, called College Bound Arkansas (view the College Bound Arkansas PDF flyer). It is for students with disabilities, who have an interest in attending college.
