at the Embassy Suites in Hot Springs (look for our table in the lobby)

Registration must be received by October 1, 2024. Please complete the Local Transition Team Registration Form below. After you submit your registration, you will receive an invoice/confirmation email. Please pay from this invoice or you will not be considered registered. Teams can be paid for using one check, but please indicate team members who are paid by that particular check on the check stub or memo section. Please make checks payable to Arch Ford Education Coop. If you do not receive the confirmation email within 4 hours of submitting registration, please check your spam folder.

There is a 4 person per team MINIMUM and 10 person per team MAXIMUM to attend the Summit. EACH TEAM MEMBER MUST REGISTER SEPARATELY. The cost of registration is $150 per person. We will waive one registration fee for a student with a disability or a parent of a student with a disability who are part of an attending team. No refunds will be given after September 15, 2024. Cancellations made or refunds requested prior to September 15, 2024 will be assessed a $25 fee. Cancellations and refunds must be requested via email to bonnie.boaz@ade.arkansas.gov.

ATS will provide certificates of attendance for those registered and attending the conference. These will be emailed to the attendee after the conference. Please note these are not CEUs.

A limited block of rooms has been reserved at the Embassy Suites, 400 Convention Blvd. Hot Springs, AR 71901. To make reservations you may contact the hotel directly at (501) 624.9200 or go to the Embassy Suites reservations link to reserve a room online. Please use the group code "91F" so that you will receive the conference rate of $111.00/night.

Your Pre-ETS Counselor from Arkansas Rehabilitation Services will register as part of your team once your team is registered.

Goals of the 2024 ATS Summit:

 
  1. To build or enhance local level, cross-disciplinary Transition Teams for improving post school outcomes for students with disabilities.
  2. To develop goals and action plans based on local Transition Teams needs.
  3. To identify technical assistance needs of Transition Teams.


In a continued effort to improve post school outcomes for students with disabilities in Arkansas, Arkansas Transition Services is working to enhance the planning of already existing teams and develop more local transition teams around the state through the Arkansas Transition Summit. It is our hope that established teams will attend the Summit again this year and new ones will join in the effort.

Our focus area this year will include Student Development, Student Focused Planning, Interagency Collaboration, Family Engagement and Program Structure. We will have several sessions related to these topics, as well as reserved time for team planning.

Arkansas Transition Services will assist you in building or enhancing your local transition team if needed. In order to attend the Arkansas Transition Summit, a team must be organized prior to the Summit. This team will be the local transition team for the school, community or county and will focus on areas of need within that specific community. Your team will need to meet prior to attending the Summit.

Transition Team members can include, but are not limited to, Special Education Teachers, Special Education Supervisors, Parents or Family Members, Students, Related Service Personnel (OT, PT, SLP), Agency Representatives, School Administrators, General Education Teachers, School Counselors, College/Community College Representatives (Disability Supports Services), Employers, etc.
